Louise Robb Associates Facilitation Case Study 2
Louise Robb Associates has had a long-term relationship with a Health Promotion board which is part of the NHS. This particular project was a Community Food Development Programme, the aim of which is to improve the access to, and take-up of, a healthy diet by communities within regeneration areas in the county. The project also aims to use work around food and health to build individual and community capacity to overcome some of the barriers to a healthy diet. Louise Robb Associates was tasked within this agenda to design and deliver key sections of the overall plan.
PROJECT STEPS
1. To design and deliver a key stakeholder’s day to kick start the project to ensure that as many of the partners were involved from the start. This included many diverse organisations with varied ideas about the way the project should be delivered. We used a variety of different facilitation tools including World Café to discuss the key themes of the day which were, how do we ensure that this project is credible, tangible, visible and accessible to the very people it is tasked to help.
2. To create the requests for community involvement
3. Design and delivery community focus groups in the regeneration areas. The purpose of this was to provide the Food workers and those who will line manage them with clear guidelines for the project.
4. To write up the outputs from these focus groups into a starter pack for the new Food Development workers so that they had much of the ideas from the communities perspective from the day they started working. This has been provided in the form of a written report, video footage, presentations made, literature to promote the project, relevant press articles and a database of all the relevant local contacts.
5. Looking forward, the work produced by Louise Robb Associates will be used at the end of the project as a reference for final success measurement.
